Victorian design wooden bow tie with moving gears
Viktor – Steampunk Design, Moving Gear, Walnut and Red Oak Wood Tie
Viktor is part of our wonderful kinetic wooden gear ties. Though basically a ‘club round’ shape, the focus is on the moving gears and the steampunk style.
Walnut is one of our darkest woods. Not only can it be laser-engraved to wonderful effect, we also love to use its natural darkness as a contrast for lighter woods and to show off the great shape of our unique bow ties.
Red Oak is a lighter wood with a red tone and smaller grain. We use red oak for bow ties with big, bold designs that rely on outstanding shapes.
This custom bow tie is a part of the Club Round Collection. This collection uses the Rounded shape style – reminiscent of white-tuxedo casino dress, this nontraditional style has unique rounded ends, and is quickly becoming one of the most popular styles.
Approx. 1.75″ x 5″. Comes complete with adjustable strap. All our adult size ties come with an adjustable tuxedo strap, fitting 13″ – 24″ in diameter.
This piece of kinetic steampunk art is called The “Blue VanDerMeer”, and is a ‘modern’ shaped outline wooden bow tie, with wooden gears that actually move!
Laser cut out of wonderfully deep walnut wood with bright birch wood gears, and attached to an adjustable strap. You will quickly be the talk of your college engineering class.
These are not your old professor’s bow ties.
This custom bow tie is a part of the Modern Collection. Bow ties from this collection use the Classic shape style – as perhaps the style that most people are familiar with, this shape can be used for any occasion.
Walnut is one of our darkest woods. Not only can it be laser-engraved to wonderful effect, we also love to use its natural darkness as a contrast for lighter woods and to show off the great shape of our unique bow ties.
Birch is a light wood with a rough finish and grain, so it makes for a wonderful partner wood. We use birch for those wood bow ties made that rely on sharp contrast to stand out.
Approx. 1.5″ tall, 4.5″ wide, and .5″ thick. All our adult size ties come with an adjustable tuxedo strap, fitting 13″ – 24″ in diameter.

Hello, my name is Shawn Wilson. Me and my wife we officially created W.K. Wilson on January 6, 2016 after many months of batting the idea back and forth and creating a product that would be original, designed well and put together to last.
The initials W.K. stand for Wood Knots which is what we originally called our wooden bow ties. So for we have created over 100 designs, created out of about a dozen different woods, with more woods to come. Our cool wooden ties have been featured in local news stories on TV, in print and on the web, and have been even seen in national television stories.
Oh, but we can never sit on our laurels, we continue to look for ways to design creative, unusual, and dapper new ties and have recently come up with our moving gear ties, laser cut out of cherry, red oak, birch, mahogany and walnut woods.
Character, Design, and Integrity is our mantra, and everything we do from brainstorming, to material, to production, to presentation, to quality control and customer service with that mantra needing to be fulfilled.
Our wooden bow ties are inspired a now 92 year old gentleman who has over 500 wonderful and wild bow ties. Max Moser, as well as his late wife Sherma, are remarkable characters. I have learned from them to look at things from a different point of view. To see the good, the unique, the wonderful in the unexpected in life. That is, in a very big part, what we wanted share by starting this business.
Max is special, not just because he is the “Bow Tie Guy”, complete with the white curly mustache, but because of his empathy, his perspective on life, and his understanding of what is most important.
As a company we seek to follow Max’s example to be different, to stand out in a crowd, not just in what we wear, but who we are. We want make things the very best we can, and have our creations become heirlooms. And we continue to strive to learn more, be better, do better, work smarter, give more today than yesterday. That’s why our mantra is Character – Design – Integrity.
